UN Women is a global defender of women and girls and it was established to accelerate the meeting of their needs. UN Women supports women’s participation in all aspects of life and for this purpose it has designated five basic working areas: to increase the participation and leadership of women in the politics and the resolution processes; to make a contribution to economic development of women; to end violence against women; to encourage the participation of women in peace and security processes; to put the gender equality in the center of national development plan and budgeting processes. UN Women also coordinates and supports UN system’s works in advancing gender equality.
